EEA Family Permit Route: Ending June 30, 2021

02/06/2021

If you applied for an EEA family permit, please be aware that the EEA family permit is ending on June 30, 2021. This means that no new applications for an EEA family permit will be accepted after this date.

You should not attempt to travel to the UK on an EEA family permit, regardless of the date it was issued or the validity date printed on it, after 30 June 2021.

Instead you may be able to apply for an EU Settlement Scheme family permit to come to the UK after 30 June 2021. For more information, please visit the gov.uk website.

UK Visas & Immigration will continue to assess applications submitted by 30 June although they are unable to guarantee a decision will be made on your application by that date.

Fraud alert: Please be aware that there are known scams for booking EEA appointments in certain locations. EEA visas are free of charge and you should not be asked to pay for your appointment, unless you have chosen to add any of the following Added Value Services offered by TLScontact to your basket. Please contact us to report any attempts by a third party to charge you for a free appointment.

The latest updates on UK Government traffic light system

14/05/2021

The UK Government have introduced a traffic light system for international travel, overseen by the Department of Transport (DfT), that sets out the rules travellers must follow to enter England. Separate guidance is available for travellers entering Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) continue to process visas for work, study, residence, visitor in transit (VIT) and direct airside transit (DATV) in red list locations. UKVI continue to accept all types of visa application, but have paused issuing visit visas in red list locations whilst travel bans remains in place. Travellers may wish to take this into consideration when deciding whether to submit a visit visa application from a red list location.

Important information about processing times

30/07/2020

Due to the ongoing global impact of Coronavirus, disruptions to local travel and courier routes have increased transit times in some regions. These delays mean that it may take longer than usual for UK Visas & Immigration to assess your visa application. As a result, for non-settlement visas it may take more than 15 working days from the date of your appointment, and for settlement visas it may take more than 60 working days from the date of your appointment, before you receive a decision.
