Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below:

The non-compliances (WCAG 2.1 A + WCAG 2.1 AA):

TOP

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

TOP

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • 1. Some errors have been spotted when looking at the text context (e.g. Not all the text is left aligned on our website as some texts are justified, some paragraphs - legal pages - contain more than 5 sentences, etc). We have raised to this issue to the attention of the Web Content team and expect a fix on all our websites by end of June 2021.
  • 2. Not all the website can be used without using a mouse (e.g menu drop-down elements are not accessible). This issue will be fixed by end of March with a new design of our web pages that will display fully all elements contain in the menu.
  • 3. For the pop-ups, the focus is not immediately inside the box. It is also not possible to close the box by pressing the Esc key or using the keyboard to press a close/cancel button (no TAB controls in pop-ups). In addition, all the controls cannot be operated with only the keyboard. Web Content team will fix this issue by end of June 2021.
  • 4. Videos don’t contain captions and/or audio track provided that presents equivalent information. This fails WCAG 2.0 success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio description (pre-recorded)). This is not a serious issue as we have very few videos on our websites (3 maximum) and those videos are related to Added Value Services promotions which has no impact on the visa application journey. However, our Video Team will be informed so we can update all our videos by end of Q2 to be fully compliant.
  • 5. Users cannot control time limit (e.g. product cart). This fails WCAG 2.0 success criterion 2.2.1 (Timing adjustable). The only time limit applicable on our website is when the user adds a product to his/her basket and/or book for an appointment slot. We allow user to confirm his/her selection (triggered by a (pre)payment) within a period of 20 minutes for security reasons. However, our website doesn’t use a client-side time limit to help protect users who may step away from their computer. After a period of inactivity, the Web page doesn’t ask if the user needs more time. We will investigate further with our DEV team on such functionality and do our best to be fully compliant.
  • 6. Individuals who are blind or have low vision may have difficulty knowing when a visual context change has occurred, such as a new window popping up. In this case, warning users of context changes in advance minimizes confusion when the user discovers that the back button no longer behaves as expected. This fails WCAG 2.0 success criterion 3.2.2 (On input). We will investigate further with our DEV team on such functionality and do our best to be fully compliant.

If you find an issue that we have yet to identify, please contact us using one of the routes described in the ‘Reporting accessibility problems with this website’ section of this statement.
